Privacy Policy
Last updated [DATE]
The Actor Brain is run by [YOUR LEGAL NAME OR BUSINESS NAME] ("we"). This policy explains what we collect when you use theactorbrain [YOUR DOMAIN], why, and the choices you have.
What we collect
- Your email address, so you can log in with an emailed link or code and so we can send account and billing messages. If you sign in with Google or Apple, they share your email address (Apple may give us a private relay address instead) and your name with us.
- Waitlist answers, if you join the waitlist: your first name, email, and what you tell us about how you audition. We use them to invite people and to shape The Actor Brain, and we delete them if you ask.
- A sign-in cookie that keeps you logged in on that browser for up to 30 days. It's only used for logging in, never for tracking or advertising.
- What you add to The Actor Brain: auditions, notes, prep, dates, and the people you save (names, roles, and any contact details or notes you choose to enter).
- Text and images you ask us to read. When you paste a notice or add a screenshot, we send it to Anthropic's Claude to pull out the details. We don't keep the image after it's read.
- Billing details, handled by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number. We keep your Stripe customer ID and whether your subscription is active.
- Basic technical data our hosting providers record, such as IP address and browser type, to keep the service secure and working.
How we use it
- To run The Actor Brain for you: saving your history, reading notices, and creating calendar entries.
- To manage your plan (Free or Pro) and your Pro subscription.
- To keep the service secure and fair, including counting how many auto-fills (reads by Anthropic's Claude) each account uses.
We don't sell your information, and we don't use your auditions, notes or contacts for advertising.
Who we share it with
Only the companies that help us run the service, and only what each one needs:
- Supabase: logins and the database where your information is stored.
- Netlify: hosting for the website.
- Google and Apple: only if you choose to sign in with them.
- Stripe: payments and subscription management.
- Anthropic: reads the notices and screenshots you submit. [Confirm Anthropic's current commercial data terms, including retention and training, and describe them here.]
We may also share information if the law requires it.
Who can see your information
Your auditions, notes and people are private to your account. Other users can't see them. [Describe who on your side can access the database, for example: "Only the owner of The Actor Brain can access the database, and only to fix problems you report."]
How long we keep it
We keep your information while you have an account, including after a Pro subscription is cancelled, so it's there if you come back. To delete your account and everything in it, email [CONTACT EMAIL] and we'll do it within [30] days.
Your choices and rights
You can view and edit your information in the app at any time. You can ask us for a copy, a correction, or deletion by emailing [CONTACT EMAIL]. Depending on where you live (for example California or the EU), you may have additional rights; we'll honour them. [Have your lawyer confirm which laws apply.]
Children
The Actor Brain is for people 18 and older. [Confirm the minimum age with your lawyer, especially if young actors or their parents may use it.]
Changes
If we change this policy in a meaningful way, we'll tell you by email or in the app before the change takes effect.
